Chapt 8- Part 3

***
It had been a few weeks since John had been back a few weeks now. He was able to be back in the musical but Jane and him were still apart. Nothing had changed between them. John only talked to Jane unless he needed to. A month had passed by and they still had two months left. The musical was doing great. It was everything with John and Jane that was a disaster. Jane wanted him to talk to her. She has tried to talk to him, but he has completely ignored her. John was doing great, though. He had a very positive attitude about everything. He has been spending his time practicing and hanging out with his friends. Especially, Alex. Ever since they talked, him and Alex have been talking and hanging out a lot more. Of course, sometimes, Alex brought Lara. John was so happy for Lara and Alex because they were doing so great. Jane was to busy practicing and feeling sorry for herself that she hasn't spent that much time hanging with her friends. She felt too alone to do anything. Jane woke up late that morning cranky and not willing to go to rehearsal. So she got dressed and went to the coffee shop. What she found there was nothing what she was expecting. She brought her lines with her and got her coffee. She sat down and studied carefully. Then, she heard a familiar voice asking,
"Can I sit here?"
Jane looked up and saw John.
"What are you doing here?"
"Rehearsal was canceled because you didn't show up."
"How did you know I would be here?"
"I guessed. I also remember you telling me that when you were having a bad day, you go get coffee and relax."
"How did you remember that?"
"Because it was a good moment I had with you. So, can I sit here?"
Jane nodded and moved her things off the other chair.
"So, why are you in a bad mood?" John asked.
"I don't know. It has something to do with someone named John."
"I thought, by now, you would get that I am not your problem. If I was your problem, then you would be mine. Just because we're not together, doesn't mean we can't be friends."
"Yes it does. I can't be friends with my ex."
"Technically, I am not your ex because we were never really together. So, we could be friends."
"Ok, fine, but if you're not my problem, than what is?"
"I don't know, Jane, what is your problem? Maybe it is the fact that you just can't let go. If you hold on to the past, than you will never enjoy life. When you told me that your parents were dead, you said it because you were ashamed of your past. Sadly, the past has passed. Why keep holding on to something that is hurting deep down inside? Only you can answer that question."
"But what does all of that mean?"
"Ugh..."
"John!"
"If I can't make you see than you will have to figure it all out yourself. I hope you can be happier. And most of all, I hope we can be together again."
John got up and kissed Jane on the cheek. Then, he left. Jane sat there with a lifetime of question that had no answers. Jane wanted to let go, but she just didn't know what she needed to let go of.
